3D_ants
Below are links to the zip files containing the .stl files to print 3D ant models created in my lab by Peter Nichols (intern).  Please feel free to use these for non-commercial/educational use (you may NOT print these to sell them) and give appropriate credit:

Ant 3D models designed by Peter Nichols and created for Dr. Corrie Moreau (www.moreaulab.entomology.cornell.edu/)

Due to the thin attachments at the legs, antennae, and waist, these models can only be printed with nylon (more expensive, but can print finer structures in high resolution).  We have printed them at 5 inches (see photo above).

Trap-jaw ant (Odontomachus ruginodis): Moreau_TrapJawAnt

If you are interested in potentially commissioning Pete to create a 3D model file of your own species of choice, please contact Peter Nichols directly (pnichols@saic.edu).  He will need high resolution images (that you own the copyrights to or have permission to use) from several angles.
